For the record-setting 64 members of the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine's Class of 2030, the white coats placed on their shoulders Friday represented far more than a new piece of clothing.
They represented a commitment to service, compassion, professionalism and the patients who will one day place their trust in them.
