ORONO, Maine, Aug. 14 -- University of Maine issued the following news release:

Walter Golet, assistant professor of marine sciences at the University of Maine, was featured by Maine Public discussing recent white shark sightings off southern Maine and what the animals' presence means for public safety and conservation. ""For the juvenile sharks, which may not be feeding as much on the marine mammals, there's still a lot of stuff to eat along the coast of Maine," said Golet. "There's striped bass and other sources of fish."
