Congresswoman Julia Letlow today filed legislation to streamline the process for Louisiana communities applying for federal grants and create a transparent, publicly-searchable database of all Department of Agriculture Rural Development grants.
The Rural Grants Transparency Act would make USDA rural development grant programs easier for local communities to navigate by requiring the agency to create clear, public roadmaps for each grant program explaining eligibility criteria, application steps, funding opportunities, and common reasons applications are rejected.
