WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Jen Kiggans (VA-02) released the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 7008, the Stop Insider Trading Act, passed the House by a vote of 231 to 198. This bill would prohibit lawmakers from making new purchases of individual stocks while allowing them to purchase portfolios that are diversified. It also makes it mandatory for members to file a public notice 7-14 days prior to selling individual stocks.Kiggans is an original cosponsor of the Stop Insider Trading Act, introduced by Rep.
