Today, Senators Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Ted Cruz (R-TX), and Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) introduced the Sustainment of Unmanned Systems, Total Force Aircraft Inventory, and National Guard Protection (SUSTAIN) Act (https://www.kelly.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/SUSTAIN-Act.pdf) to prohibit the Air Force from reducing MQ-9 units or staffing levels in ways that would erode their current operational capabilities.
