After working for many years as an engineer for the United States Navy, Jason Updegraph decided it was time for a change. He chose to pursue a master's degree in secondary physics education through Slippery Rock University's flexible online program, allowing him to care for his family while earning his degree and state teaching certification.
"That prior knowledge of applied math and science made teaching a good fit and a great way to help the next generation," said Updegraph, '25, who completed his degree last December.
