Students from the U of A Communication Disorders and Occupational Therapy Department recently came together for an interprofessional learning experience focused on dysphagia care coordination and clinical decision-making in healthcare settings. Dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing, can significantly impact a person's safety, nutrition, hydration, independenceand quality of life. Because eating is a fundamental activity of daily living, swallowing disorders often require coordinated care from multiple healthcare professionals.
