WASHINGTON, Sept. 4 -- Internal Revenue Service has issued a proposed rule called: Racial Nondiscrimination in Private Schools.
The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Sept. 4 by Frank J. Bisignano, Chief Executive Officer.
Summary: This document contains proposed regulations that would update existing regulations to provide that a private school is not described as an organization exempt from Federal income tax if it discriminates on the basis of race, color, or national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational, admissions, scholarship, athletic, or other policies, based on the fundamental public policy of the United States against such practices.
