INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: INCOME OF FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS AND OF INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

WASHINGTON, June 1 -- Internal Revenue Service has issued a proposed rule called: Income of Foreign Governments and of International Organizations.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on June 1 by Frank J. Bisignano, Chief Executive Officer.

Summary: This document contains proposed regulations regarding the applicability dates of proposed rules relating to the taxation of the income of foreign governments from investment in the United States. This document also withdraws a portion of the proposed regulations published on December 15, 2025, relating to applicability dates.
