BLACKSBURG, Va., Sept. 24 -- Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University issued the following news release:
Shemaiah Domingo Palma, a senior majoring in biochemistry and member of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, died Sept. 2. The Woodbridge, Virginia, resident was 21 years old.
Shemaiah was on track to graduate in 2027 with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry. Her love of service guided her membership in many student organizations on campus where she served as a peer mentor for Sexual Violence Prevention Education and as the co-sisterhood director in the service sorority of Omega Phi Alpha.
