PRINCESS ANNE, Md., July 13 -- The University of Maryland-Eastern Shore issued the following news release:
The aspiration to become a researcher in Japan was not part of the plan for Nylah McClain when she enrolled at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore as a freshman. Now a research graduate assistant in the Marine-Estuarine Environmental Science (MEES) program, McClain made her first trip to Japan as UMES's first Boren study abroad student. She attributes clarity in her chosen field of study to the thoughtful guidance of her professors and the discovery of a different culture through language and international studies offered at UMES. Nylah has Hawk Pride, and she wants others to catch it.
