On Friday, May 15, Hostos Community College gathered in C-391 to celebrate its LGBTQIA+ graduating students during the annual Lavender Graduation Ceremony, now in its second edition. It was an afternoon filled with joy, reflection, affirmation, and community. More than a graduation, the ceremony created a space where students could arrive fully as themselves, surrounded by peers, mentors, faculty, staff, alumni, and loved ones who recognized not only their academic accomplishments, but also the resilience, vulnerability, and courage it takes to move through the world authentically.
