VALDOSTA - Area high school students recently spent a week immersed in the exciting world of chemistry during a special summer camp hosted by Valdosta State University. It was an opportunity for the teens to experience chemistry the way scientists do - through hands-on discovery, experimentation, and problem-solving.
Working alongside VSU Department of Chemistry faculty and students, the high schoolers synthesized organic compounds, explored shape-changing materials, learned the process of nickel-plating small objects, and investigated the chemistry of color.
