August1 marked the 30-year anniversary of the Ask Dr.Universe program. To celebrate, I caught up with Dr.Universe to chat about how far she's come - and what it's like to be Washington State University's resident science cat since 1996.
How did you come to live and work at WSU?
Dr.Universe: As a science cat, I've had an unusual life. Like most wild cats, I spent 12weeks cuddled up with my mom and litter mates, learning cat things, before I set out on my own, ready to sink my claws into some adventure.
