SACRAMENTO, CA - Governor Gavin Newsom signed Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin's (D-Thousand Oaks)Assembly Bill (AB) 2532, legislation that strengthens dosing and labeling requirements for cannabis beverages and establishes new safety requirements for cannabis edibles and beverages.
The legislation follows a 2025 report from the California State Auditor which found severe deficiencies in the Department's youth advertising and marketing enforcement. The audit was requested by Assemblymember Irwin in 2024 following reports of significant increases in child cannabis poisonings.
