HELENA, Mont., Sept. 1 -- Montana Governor issued the following press release:
Governor Greg Gianforte today encouraged Montana's Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGO) to participate in a new federal program aimed at expanding education freedom for Montana students.
In January 2026, Gov. Gianforte announced Montana opted-in to the new Federal Tax Credit Scholarship Program to provide Montanans with a tax credit of up to $1,700 when they donate to nonprofits that provide scholarships to K-12 students. To qualify, SGOs must meet federal requirements and be verified by the Montana Department of Revenue.
