Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand released the following statement on the death of Nurul Amin Shah Alam, following reports that immigration agents dropped him at a coffee shop in Buffalo miles away from his home.
The senator followed up on her public statement below with a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott demanding a full accounting of the events and actions taken by federal agents while Mr. Shah Alam was in their custody.
