Today, Congressman Scott Franklin (FL-18) led members of the Florida delegation in sending a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) urging timely, science-based review of emerging citrus rootstock technologies to combat citrus greening (HLB).
Florida's citrus industry has faced steep declines due to HLB, compounded by recent hurricanes and freeze damage. Production has dropped by more than 90 percent from its peak, putting significant pressure on growers and limiting their ability to reinvest.
