ORONO, Maine, July 24 -- University of Maine issued the following news release:
Fox 22 in Bangor interviewed University of Maine Baseball Head Coach Nicholas Derba on Major League Baseball teams drafting Black Bears for four consecutive years, including Jason Krieger's recent selection by the New York Yankees. "Everything we have is because of the people here before us," Derba said. "We have this wonderful baseline to work from. It's not because of us, but it's our job to pass it on and leave it in a better place. And that's what we're trying to do." The Bangor Daily News also interviewed Derba about the New York Yankees drafting Krieger.
