WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 -- Fish and Wildlife Service has issued a proposed rule called: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Status Review for the Lesser Prairie-Chicken.
The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Feb. 26 by Brian R. Nesvik, Director, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Summary: In response to a court order, we, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) are initiating a new 12-month petition finding process for the lesser prairie-chicken ( Tympanuchus pallidicinctus) under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (Act). We ask the public to submit to us any information relevant to the status of the lesser prairie-chicken or its habitat.
