WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 -- Federal Aviation Administration has issued a proposed rule called: Lightning Hazard Mitigation Burden-Reducing Exception.
The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Oct. 5 by Minh A. Nguyen, Deputy Associate Administrator, Office of Commercial Space Transportation.
Summary: FAA proposes to amend its commercial space launch and reentry licensing regulations to streamline the licensing process and reduce regulatory burden for license applicants. Specifically, FAA proposes to add an exception for compliance with lightning hazard mitigation requirements for certain licensed launch and reentry operations.
