WASHINGTON, May 22 -- Federal Aviation Administration has issued a proposed rule called: Flexibility Enhancements of Weather Reporting Systems.
The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on May 22 by Hugh J. Thomas, Acting Executive Director, Flight Standards Service.
Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes to revise its regulations to substitute weather reports from the National Weather Service with weather reports prepared by FAA and other sources approved by the Administrator. The National Weather Service no longer provides weather reports in the capacity described in the relevant provisions of the regulations.
