WASHINGTON, Sept. 17 -- Federal Aviation Administration has issued a proposed rule called: Airworthiness Directives; ATR-GIE Avions de Transport Regional Airplanes.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Sept. 17 by Hollister B. Thorson, Acting Deputy Director, Compliance & Airworthiness Division, Aircraft Certification Service.

Summary: The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all ATR-GIE Avions de Transport Regional Model ATR42 and ATR72 airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by reports of uncommanded nose landing gear (NLG) retraction.
