WASHINGTON, Aug. 26 -- The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration issued the following press release:
WASHINGTON - The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes a $73,000 civil penalty against Lifeflight Aviation Services, LLC of Bangor, Maine, for allegedly violating FAA drug and alcohol testing program regulations.
The FAA alleges Lifeflight, hired six pilots and two mechanics and failed to include them in its required random drug and alcohol testing pool. In addition, the FAA alleges one of the pilots was hired without a verified negative pre-employment drug test.
