WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 -- Environmental Protection Agency has issued a rule called: Air Plan Approval; SC; Department Name Change.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Aug. 20 by Kevin McOmber, Regional Administrator, Region 4.

Summary: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA or Agency) is approving a State Implementation Plan (SIP) revision submitted by the State of South Carolina on July 23, 2025. The revision updates references to reflect the restructuring of South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) to the South Carolina Department of Public Health and the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (DES).
