WASHINGTON, April 16 -- Environmental Protection Agency has issued a rule called: Air Plan Approval; California; Eastern Kern Air Pollution Control District; Portland Cement Kilns.
The rule was published in the Federal Register on April 16 by Michael Martucci, Acting Regional Administrator, Region IX.
Summary: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is taking final action to approve a revision to the Eastern Kern Air Pollution Control District (EKAPCD or "District") portion of the California State Implementation Plan (SIP). This revision concerns emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NO X) from Portland cement kilns. We are approving a local rule that regulates these emission sources under the Clean Air Act (CAA or "Act").
