ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: AIR PLAN APPROVAL; MISSOURI; ATTAINMENT PLAN FOR THE NEW MADRID NONATTAINMENT AREA FOR THE 2010 1-HOUR SULFUR DIOXIDE NATIONAL AMBIENT AIR QUALITY STANDARD

WASHINGTON, May 7 -- Environmental Protection Agency has issued a proposed rule called: Air Plan Approval; Missouri; Attainment Plan for the New Madrid Nonattainment Area for the 2010 1-Hour Sulfur Dioxide National Ambient Air Quality Standard.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on May 7 by James Macy, Regional Administrator, Region 7.

Summary: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve the State Implementation Plan (SIP) revision, submitted by the State of Missouri, on May 3, 2023. This revision pertains to the attainment plan for the New Madrid nonattainment area for the 2010 1-hour sulfur dioxide (SO 2) primary National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS).
