ATHENS, Ga., July 31 -- The University of Georgia issued the following news release:

Megan Henning loves to see ideas turn into action.

As manager of the University of Georgia Entrepreneurship Program, she gets to do just that each day.

"I love the energy and the pivots and the back and forth of coming up with new ideas," she said.

Henning earned her bachelor's degree in marketing from the Terry College of Business in the early 1990s and then took part in a retail management program, leading the women's shoes, cosmetics and women's fashion areas for Parisian. Eventually, she and her husband decided to leave Atlanta and return to Athens, and she took a position as marketing director for Downtown Athens, which she held for 14 years.
