DINGELL INTRODUCES BILL TO IMPROVE FINANCIAL SECURITY OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

U.S. Representative Debbie Dingell (D-MI-06) introduced a bill to improve the financial security of people with disabilities by updating and modernizing savings limits for Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) accounts, helping individuals build financial security without risking access to critical benefits, which is important as individuals with disabilities and their families face exacerbated costs.

The Stephen Wira ABLE Act was inspired by a Michigan constituent after their family contacted Congresswoman Dingell's office to share concerns that the outdated savings cap limits families' ability to better prepare for their future.
