WASHINGTON, Aug. 28 -- Department Of State has issued a proposed rule called: Passports: Expanding Online Passport Renewal Overseas.
The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Aug. 28 by John L. Armstrong, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Consular Affairs, U.S. Department of State.
Summary: The Department proposes to amend 22 CFR 51.21 by consolidating requirements for persons applying by mail and online in the United States and overseas. This proposed change includes expanding online passport application availability to qualified applicants located in foreign countries.
