On Thursday, June 4, 2026, the Virginia Tech Police Department received a report of a sexual assault. The incident occurred at Creativity and Innovation District (185 Kent Street) in the early hours of June 6, 2026. The survivor and offender were known to each other and are best described as acquaintances. The suspect is a student at Virginia Tech.
As reported, this incident meets the elements of Sexual Battery as defined in Virginia Code 18.2-67.4.
