WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Brad Sherman (CA-32) released the following statement marking the fourth anniversary of the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman who died on September 16, 2022, after being detained by Iran's "morality police." Her death sparked widespread protests across Iran that became known as the "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement.
"Four years ago today, 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was killed after being detained by the Islamic Republic of Iran's so-called 'morality police.'
