On Saturday, August 15, 2026, Congressman Al Green will host Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for a historic Slavery Remembrance Legislative Update and Assembly to implement a National Day of Slavery Remembrance on August 20th annually. The annual event will help ensure the evils of slavery are never forgotten and thus never repeated. The assembly will be held in the Capitol Visitor's Center Auditorium located at 2 U.S. Senate Drive, Washington, D.C., 20510, at 11:00 a.m. ET.
