On Thursday, August 6, 2026, a symbolic check for $500,000 will be presented to the Hiram Clarke/Fort Bend Redevelopment Authority (HCFBRA). The funding, awarded through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Community-Wide Brownfield Assessment Grant Program, will support HCFBRA's work serving Fort Bend County and Southwest Houston. This federal investment will help identify and assess environmentally impacted and underutilized properties in historically underserved communities; it will also support environmental site assessments, community engagement, and redevelopment planning.
