WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 -- Commodity Futures Trading Commission has issued a proposed rule called: Privacy Act Regulations.
The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Sept. 21 by Robert Sidman, Deputy Secretary of the Commission.
Summary: On May 6, 2026, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission published in the Federal Registera notice of proposed rulemaking ("NPRM"), titled Privacy Act Regulations, to amend its Privacy Act regulations to exempt the CFTC-59 Insider Risk Program Records System of Records from certain provisions of the Privacy Act. The comment period for the Proposed Rule closed on June 5, 2026. The Commission is reopening the comment period for this NPRM for an additional ten days.
