WASHINGTON, Aug. 10 -- Coast Guard has issued a rule called: Safety Zones; Annual Events in the Captain of the Port Eastern Great Lakes Zone Marine Events Within the Great Lakes Coast Guard District.
The rule was published in the Federal Register on Aug. 10 by Matthew J. Walter, Captain, U.S. Coast Guard, Captain of the Port Sector Eastern Great Lakes.
Summary: The Coast Guard will enforce multiple safety zones located in federal regulations for recurring marine events taking place in August through September of 2026 to provide for the safety of life on navigable waterways during these events.
