COAST GUARD ISSUES RULE: SAFETY ZONE; NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA

WASHINGTON, July 10 -- Coast Guard has issued a rule called: Safety Zone; North Atlantic Ocean, Virginia Beach, VA.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on July 10 by Peggy M. Britton, Captain, U.S. Coast Guard, Captain of the Port, Sector Virginia.

Summary: The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for certain navigable waters of the North Atlantic Ocean at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards associated with an over water fireworks display. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Virginia, or their designated representative.
