COAST GUARD ISSUES RULE: SAFETY ZONE; LOWER MISSISSIPPI RIVER, FIREWORKS DISPLAY, VIDALIA, LA

WASHINGTON, June 29 -- Coast Guard has issued a rule called: Safety Zone; Lower Mississippi River, Fireworks Display, Vidalia, LA.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on June 29 by D.P. Kilcullen, Captain, U.S. Coast Guard, Captain of the Port Sector Lower Mississippi River.

Summary: The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for navigable waters on the Lower Mississippi River. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards associated with an over-water fireworks display. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port Sector Lower Mississippi River, or their designated representative.
