WASHINGTON, June 29 -- Coast Guard has issued a rule called: Safety Zone; Columbia River, Richland, WA.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on June 29 by Anthony R. Migliorini, Captain, U.S. Coast Guard, Captain of the Port Sector Columbia River.

Summary: The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for navigable waters on the Columbia River on June 27, 2026 and June 28, 2026. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards associated with high-speed hydroplane vessel races. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Columbia River, or their designated representative.
