Brief Summary: Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a double-stranded DNA virus belonging to the Gammaherpesvirinae subfamily of Herpesviridae. It primarily infects B cells and pharyngeal epithelial cells, and can also infect NK cells and T cells.
