U.S. Representative Sean Casten (IL-06) and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) introduced the Environmental Health Restoration Act, legislation to restore and strengthen the Environmental Protection Agency's core mission to protect public health, the environment, and the climate.
The lawmakers introduced the bill just days after the Trump Administration's EPA finalized the repeal of major greenhouse gas standards for coal- and gas-fired power plants and moved to eliminate remaining federal climate pollution requirements for the power sector.
