Today, Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX) led 19 members of Congress calling on Speaker Mike Johnson to immediately schedule open hearings with the CEOs of America's largest AI companies. The letter is co-led by Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL), Ranking Member of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection.
In a letter to Johnson, the members write: "Advanced AI models pose a clear risk to the safety and security of the American people. [...] At the same time, Artificial Intelligence threatens to displace millions of American workers.
