WASHINGTON, May 15 -- Bureau of Indian Affairs has issued a notice called: HEARTH Act Approval of Buena Vista Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians of California, Leasing Ordinance.
The notice was published in the Federal Register on May 15 by William Henry Kirkland III, Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs.
Summary: The Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs approved the Buena Vista Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians of California Leasing Ordinance under the Helping Expedite and Advance Responsible Tribal Homeownership Act of 2012 (HEARTH Act). With this approval, the Tribe is authorized to enter into leases without further Secretary of the Interior approval.
