WASHINGTON- Congressman Vern Buchanan, Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and Chairman of the Health Subcommittee, announced he is cosponsoring two bills to improve the health of students across Florida: the Local Foods for Healthy Schools Act (H.R. 9474), bipartisan legislation introduced by Congressman Glenn "GT" Thompson (R-Pa.) and Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (D-Mich.), as well as the Know What's on the Tray Act (H.R. 9951), introduced by Congressman Tom Barrett (R-Mich.).
