WASHINGTON, July 16 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management issued the following press release:
The Bureau of Land Management has reopened Rim Campground in Natrona County effective July 16, 2026. The closure was a precautionary measure to ensure public safety.
While wildlife officials were hopeful, the bear was not able to be relocated. Animals fed by humans can lose their natural instincts to hunt or gather food, as well as become aggressive toward people. If you are visiting public lands or planning to use campground facilities, please help keep wildlife wild by keeping campsites clean, storing food in bear-proof lockers, throwing trash into secure bins, and never feeding animals.
