Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, Ranking Member of the Senate Agriculture Subcommittee on Conservation, Forestry, Natural Resources, and Biotechnology, led Senators Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on the Budget, Ron Wyden (D-Ore), Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee, and Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), Ranking Member on the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, to introduce the Public Lands Integrity Act. This bill would ensure that America's public lands cannot be sold as part of a fast-tracked process in a budget reconciliation bill, which allows for passage in the Senate by a simple majority vote.
