Congressman Michael Baumgartner (WA-05) today announced that Bill Plucker, a longtime teacher at Walla Walla High School, has been selected as the winner of this year's Classroom to the Capitol Contest and will join the Congressman as his guest at the State of the Union Address on February 24.
Mr. Plucker, who has taught social studies, civics, and AP Government for more than 33 years, started Walla Walla High School's AP Government program and has inspired generations of students to engage in public service and leadership.
