KEARNEY - Standing in front of a large crowd gathered to celebrate the future of rural healthcare education in Nebraska, Allie Daro reflected on the path that brought her back to Kearney.
Just a few years ago, she was a University of Nebraska at Kearney student preparing for a career in medicine through the Kearney Health Opportunities Program (KHOP). On Thursday, she returned as a fourth-year medical student at the University of Nebraska Medical Center - and the current UNMC student regent - to speak during a dedication ceremony for the Douglas A. Kristensen Rural Health Education Complex.
