AT INTEL HEARING, GILLIBRAND PUSHES CLAYTON ON ELECTION SECURITY AND HIS SUBPOENAS OF NEW YORK TIMES JOURNALISTS

WASHINGTON, July 15 -- Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand issued the following press release:

Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, pressed director of national intelligence nominee Jay Clayton on the subpoenas he issued (https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/11/business/media/new-york-times-trump-subpoenas.html) to multiple New York Times journalists who reported on security concerns involving President Trump's Qatari-donated Air Force One.

In addition, Gillibrand pressed Clayton about election security and his refusal to state plainly that Joe Biden won the 2020 election.
