Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) released the following statement after questioning President Trump's nominee for Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Kevin Warsh.
"I am a 'no' on Kevin Warsh for Chairman of the Federal Reserve. He could not answer my very simple questions regarding the independence of the Federal Reserve amid the politically motivated investigations into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and Governor Lisa Cook. Mr. Warsh did not provide me or my constituents with the certainty that he would be an independent voice overseeing our economy-so I cannot vote to confirm him for this position," said Senator Alsobrooks.
